World and Olympic Figure Skating Champion, Aleksei Rocmanov, ranks among the world's favorite athletes, and everything he touches turns to gold. A ladies man, with a less than angelic reputation, Aleksei finds himself suddenly faced with the very real possibility his singles skating career is over after sustaining an injury off the ice.

Jordan Jamison's life-long dream has been to achieve Olympic Gold in pairs figure skating, and all indications point to her doing just that, until her partner abandons her for someone warmer, someone the press doesn't refer to as the "Ice Queen."

Taking a monumental risk, Aleksei and Jordan's coaches team the two together, believing they can bring something magical and unique to the ice. From the very beginning, the coaches find themselves in the middle of an inferno that brings new meaning to "playing with fire," and they struggle to find a way for "Fire and Ice," as Aleksei and Jordan are dubbed by the press, to survive side by side.

The obstacles Aleksei and Jordan face, as they seek Olympic Gold, teach them lessons about life, and yet they realize an even greater success, as they find out what 'for better or for worse' means when fate steps in and nearly destroys all they've worked for. Having fulfilled a lifetime dream, and completed her first novel, Elizabeth is busy finishing up the sequel to Whispers on the Ice. A transplanted Californian, she calls the mid-west home, and is married, and the mother of two.
