About the Book

Off The Top Onion Heads is a book of poems dedicated to all my friends especially Eunice and my children Rachael, Michele, Alvin Jr., and Judi Lynne that have been very inspirational to me through the years, the tears, joy, laughter, and pain. My cousin Phyllis gets a lot of credit for me writing this book because she used to eat onion sandwiches everyday and blow everybody away. I mean we would be running to get away from the kitchen, the house, anywhere she came with onion breath.

About the Author

The author started writing at 17 yrs. old. When she got a choice of words going on in her head, she just sat down and wrote off the top of her head. It didn?t take a long time to write a poem or a book of poems. It just took a long time to get published and find the right publisher. She thanks God for the talent that he has given her, to just be free, ?to be me whenever I write poetry.? She also thanks Nikki Giovanni for being her mentor all these years.
