About the Book

The story is about my mother's 101 year's of life experiences, as well as other related stories. How does a woman live such a long life of abuse and bitter trials? I do not advocate that anyone must tolerate the abuse she experienced, but her faith and dedication, to both God and family, kept her going, and must be admired.

The title is a reflection of her main daily activity. Each day she turned a pot of water into a delicious Italian style meal for her large family, and anyone else who happened to visit. In the back of my book are some of her tasty, simple, and nutritious recipes.

In addition to the above, some history of New York City during the century she lived, and how it impacted our family, is also included. Humor also appears throughout the book as comic relief from the sadness and stress of the story.

About the Author

Surviving an abusive home life and the streets of New York City, would drive most people to a life of despair. But it was my mother?s love, faith, and courage, which gave me the direction for my life. As an eighth child, a pastor?s wife, mother, and registered nurse, I have learned much, and want to share my experiences with others; especially women.

I have also written other short true stories, articles and poetry. Some have been published.
