About the Book

A Year of Minutes and War: Three Wartime Novellas follows the swath of war across the last century and through the singular heart of survivors. Daniel Peterson, an enlisted soldier serving in the 82nd Airbourne, finds his youth pillaged by the first Gulf War in A Country of Sand and Stone. As men like Daniel go off to history's earlier wars, six women, all twenty-five years old, and all from different time periods, reinvent themselves in order to survive the life-changing losses of A Year of Minutes and War. And in the last novella, Mr. John and Jane Doe, the perspectives of man, woman, youth and age are brought together as an unlikely couple caught in the crux of 9/11.

About the Author

Raised in the South, Stan Kempton is the author of two other novels, The God Among Us and Central Time Zone. He currently lives on the Gulf Coast.
