About the Book

Spike's life is dominated by many hobbies; eating pizza, playing football, trying to find his stick insects and, of course, his natural curiosity.

His biggest hobby by far however is inventing and this has dominated his thoughts for most of his life; nine years, three months and two days to be precise.

Spike's considerable skill in the field of inventing, has resulted in a variety of gadgets and devices, all gratefully received by his family and friends.

Admiring his latest masterpiece Spike's Extendable Mirror Observation Device or SEMOD, Spike is confident that he can sell the gadget onto the Secret Service. His ongoing plans include adding a torch for night vision plus leaves and twigs to ensure hidden observation.

Before it can be marketed, the SEMOD needs a few more trial runs and in doing so, Spike will make contact with his colorful and unusual neighbors. This in turn, brings about unexpected results.

Miss Withakay lives in Surrey, England with her partner and son. Miss W has been writing poetry for a number of years however this is her first novel.
