About the Book
Etta's Story is a contrast between an arranged marriage in England in 1848 and that of a polygamous family in the America West. The story is set against the historical background of the Latter Day Saints ("Mormons"). It is Etta's search for happiness in the bewildering circumstances of a refined woman and her small son left alone in the gold fields of California.
About the Author
Mary Croney was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Now 81 years old and living in Pocatello, Idaho, she has been writing stories all her life. Her first published book, WAIT ?TIL HARVEST, won the Idaho Centennial Award. SOJOURN followed, a biography which contains the first-person account of her father during World War I. Mary spends her summers in Idaho and her winters in Mexico.
