About the Book
Experience is a good teacher, but always sends a bill for services rendered. Sometimes, it bankrupts the soul, if only for a minute. Women face numerous challenges in life. We strive to be the best we can be on our walk in life. As wife, mother, daughter, sister, or friend, someone always needs our time and effort. But as the old saying goes, “Is that all there is?” Our own dreams are locked down as we mould careers, tend households, and raise families. The stories in Beyond the Vineyards capture the essence of today’s women, touching on issues never far from the heart. In “Pearl,” a ski jacket brings a flood of memories, of back when Rose believed in Prince Charming … but the prince was engaged to be married. “Shequagah” tells of a doomed marriage; where Emma hears a life message in a waterfall as she dreams of a better life. Like the women in these stories, if we listen to the call of our soul telling us to reach for these dreams, we can accomplish all that we truly desire. About the Author
Katy Luffred is a retired military wife. While in the ranks as an active military wife, she chaired publications, both nationally and internationally along with volunteer committees. She has four children, and one grandson. Luffred resides on the Gulf Coast during the winter and visits wine regions in the summer.
