About the Author

Born in San Francisco, CA, Wayne Dwight Richards grew up in Oakland, CA. After serving three years in the United States Army, he took a Ph.D. in botanical ecology at UCLA. He is currently employed by the state of California as a biological systems analyst. Married twice, he has one son, Jeffrey.
