About the Book

Poetry is an intensely personal glimpse into the life of Dorise Dixon. Her love for poetry has brought this literary work to fruition. After suffering physical and mental catastrophes she found her peace through writing. Within the pages of Life Poems you will be able to see her loves and losses, her insurmountable ups and downs through pain and confusion. Dorise's family played a vital role in some of her poetry as you will see in the category of personal. Her pain through her abuses and bad relationships will touch your heart.

Dorise is now working on her second book Sitting Solitary due out in the summer of 2007, it will disclose her personal relationship with God and Christ. She is also working on her autobiography which will be a journey into the life a multiple time abused child which will include her powerful testimony how she survived.

About the Author

Born in November 1963 in Fort Worth, Texas, Dorise Dixon recently moved from Auburn, Maine and now resides in Dunwoody, Georgia. She is currently attending American Intercontinental University working towards her BA in business administration. Dixon is expected to graduate in the winter of 2008 with plans to continue her education, obtaining an MA & PhD in psychology or professional counseling. Dorise is a divorced mother of three teenage children: Jemiah, Sarah (still missing), and Gerald Paul.
