About the Book

More than a travel memoir, Hallowed Be Thy Rain is a collection of stories about some of author Lynne Martin's favorite places and favorite people.

Sightseeing takes a back seat as the author recollects the interactions with old friends and new, some of whose life experiences become those of the author, at times leaving her and the reader with a lingering melancholy. Scenery becomes background to these encounters connected by a common theme-rain-as some friends are made while others are lost.

Some locations are in another hemisphere and others as close as home. If you can imagine riding a horse through a crater on the island of Crete or wonder how bright the Southern Cross is at two in the morning, Hallowed Be Thy Rain is the book for you. Good reading, especially on a rainy day.

About the Author

Since her first visit to the Hawaiian Islands one summer during college, Lynne Martin has returned to Hawaii almost a dozen times. Most trips have been to her favorite island, Kauai. She has experienced many of the top line tourist activities and attractions on Kauai and is comfortable only wondering about those she hasn't. She visits during all seasons of the year and has encountered a variety of weather. Traveling with family and friends makes each visit an enriching one with lasting memories kept fresh by means of pictures on the laptop screensaver. The author of Hallowed Be Thy Rain, Lynne is a graduate of Oregon State University. She has lived in Colorado for 35 years, dividing her time between Littleton, where she lives with her husband and Lily the dog, and their Rocky Mountain cabin, and Oregon. Na Pali is her second book.
