About the Book

Reassessing the ancestry of contemporary criticism, Jonathan Arac opens current debates over English studies to a larger understanding of cultural and political history, from romanticism through postmodernism. About the Author

A well-known author of books on literary criticism, Jonathan Arac is a Professor in the Graduate Program at Duke University. He is also the author of Commissioned Spirits and is also editor of Postmoderism and Politics and is coeditor of The Yale Critics.
