About the Book

Everyone has read of near-death experiences where individuals seem to exit their bodies and view scenes they could not possibly have observed from their physical locations. On a flight from Chicago to San Jose I mused about what it would be like if a private detective, specifically Mike Fargo, could do the same—perform his investigations while out-of-body. Continuing to ponder the notion I wrote a short story before we landed. That short story eventually grew into a novel, and the novel into the first of a series.

The premise sounds ideal, but Mike quickly learns his ‘ability’ has many hazards. Although he has great success he can only complete his cases while awake. His days are filled with action, basic detective work, and ... fun. An executive producer at a major cable network agrees, and said it would make a great drama series.

Following the completion of Kill Me Twice I have discussed its premise with numerous people. I was amazed to discover the high percentage of them who profess their own ‘travels’ away from their bodies. Each sheepishly admitted they never discuss their ‘trips’ because people act like they are crazy. What about you? Have you ‘gone traveling’?
