To be further complicated with the Army, death, and broken relationships. His many accomplishments in life are shadowed with his alcoholism. The many mistakes and poor judgment decisions made during his increase of dependence on alcohol. Finally losing everything which was important to him.
He overcomes his alcoholism with the help of his Higher Power and the many friends in his recovery. Finding that change and risk taking are essential to growth and serenity in one's life.
I once again became a man leading a full filling and productive life. A life in which I am happy and proud to have. Obtaining the one and only thing, which was asked of me from my mother. A life without alcohol.
About the Author
I am married and joined the Army at a young age. After I obtained an overseas early discharge, I finished college on the G.I. bill. I worked as a Rehabilitation Counselor and latter in life my alcoholism took everything I cared about. I am now in a life of recovery. Change and risk taking is essential to growth and serenity in one?s life.
