About the Book

Learning to Scream is Joanne’s coming of age story. Joanne yearns to lose her inhibitions-thinking that it will complete her as a person. She soon learns that being uninhibited is not necessarily the key to living, and can sometimes cause more problems than it solves.

About the Author

Charisse Nesbit earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of New Mexico, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Creative Writing at West Chester University in Pennsylvania. Her was first published work, an essay entitled Child of the Dream, appeared in Children of the Dream (1999, Pocket Books). She is currently working on her next novel, Ebony Child, the story of a girl trying to find herself during a turbulent summer in New York City.
