About the Author
Evelyn Decker, Captain, USA (Ret), a veteran of two wars, World War II and the Korean War, entered the Army Nurse Corps in 1944 when women did not hold permanent military status. Tours of duty afforded many nursing opportunities to care for army personnel and prisoners-of-war. Postwar assignments included Walter Reed Hospital and U.S. Army hospitals in Germany.
