About the Book
Reading Task Enhanced Therapy (T.E.T.) is an incredible journey deep into understanding the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that accompany physical trauma, emotional trauma, and the very real chronic pain and anguish that linger after clinicians have done all that is humanly possible.
Most importantly, T.E.T. provides a bright pathway to happy, productive life as a person who adapts to residual pain, mood and trauma and doesn't let them rule their life. T.E.T. encourages the individual to reach for the proven, tested "lifeline" they can use to pull themselves up out of the quicksand threatening to swallow up the joy and happiness they deserve.
This book isn't about a quest for a magic wand that makes pain and suffering disappear. Rather, it reveals step by step, the revolutionary process of Task Enhanced Therapy. Every patient who has completed the 4-stage T.E.T. has regained self confidence, pride in achievement, improved mobility, dramatically reduced dependence on pain medications, and contentment by learning to live life fully in spite of obstacles.
Doctors Shockney and Parker, two very diverse individuals, meld their unique individual knowledge into a very clear, straightforward process that supports the individual in their campaign to leave being a victim behind and become an adapter. The T.E.T. process teaches the reader how to become "bigger" than the pain, trauma or disruptive mood and start living again!
