If you have found the Psalms a source of comfort and strength, you will love this treatment of the first thirty psalms. Each psalm contains a commentary on the entire psalm, not just a verse or two. You will find the psalms like a mirror reflecting back to you experiences and emotions you yourself have had at one time or another. That's why the message they carry is as up to date as the morning newspaper. The psalmist has found his solutions in God, and we may find ours there as well. Dr. Dean Koontz has been a pastor for over fifty years giving shepherding oversight to four Baptist churches: in Denver, Colorado (7 years), Laramie, Wyoming (7 years), Flagstaff, Arizona (4 years), and for the last twenty-five years in Monterey, California. He is retired, but continues to serve as Assistant Pastor of the Cool Community Church in Cool, California(ÉFCA), a small, friendly town located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.

He is a graduate of Bryan University in Dayton, Tennessee (?53 B.A.), Denver Seminary, Denver, Colorado ?56 (M Div), and received his Doctor of Ministries degree (D Min) from California Graduate School of Theology, Glendale, California (?80).

He is married to Grace for 54 years, and has two married sons and five grandchildren.
