About the Book

With the poem about "The Old Man of the Mountain", the author embarked on a 9-month journey to create a proper description to celebrate the legacy of each state as depicted in its State Quarter. This 10-year program, the most popular in the history of the U.S. Mint, will be completed in 2008, but its impact will endure forever.

The mosaic of these poems describes the beauty, splendor, struggle, perseverance, patriotism and promise of the people of the United States in a fresh, unique way to help everyone understand why " the government of the people, by the people and for the people will not perish from the earth."

The Old Man's jagged face was made of stone.
His 50-foot visage hung all alone
Among the highest mountains in the East,
The ones named after Presidents deceased

Bill Amirault is a Marketing and Business Consultant for companies and clients in several industries. He is an accomplished poet, a student of American History, and traveled to 49 states as learning for The 50 State Quarter Poems, his first book. Bill and his family live in New Jersey.
