About the Author
Roy Hoffman, a native Californian, was assigned to the 84th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star with V device for heroism in ground combat and a second Bronze Star for meritorious achievement in ground operations. He also received a Purple Heart, the Distinguished Unit Citation and Battle Stars for Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He served in the Reserves as a 2nd Lieutenant. He resides in California.
