About the Book

A lonesome, fearful, sixth-grade boy, Kyle is fascinated by the biography of a nineteenth century illusionist, Tritorenci, who wielded magical power through the telling of enchanted stories. After chancing upon a unique mask-making kit with transformative powers, Kyle confronts the forces which darken his life and connects himself intimately to the legacy of Tritorenci, The Story Wizard. But does he delve too deeply into a world where anything is possible and where madness may be induced?

A mysterious, vagabond musician, known only as Guzzi, lurks in the shadowy background of Kyle's life. Who is Guzzi? What does he want? What will he do to get it, and will that be more than Kyle can withstand?

About the Author

John McKenna has written novels for adults as well as for children. He is a certified teacher and a graduate of the Trinity Rep Conservatory in Providence. He has performed children's theater with The Hampstead Players, Kaleidescope Theater and for the Children?s Museum of Rhode Island.

David Higham holds a bachelor?s of fine arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and a master?s of fine arts from Notre Dame. He exhibits and sells paintings on Martha?s Vineyard and in western Massachusetts.
