This is a story that involves young love desperately trying to blossom during the latter part of WW2 and the tragedies and joys that occur while growing from young teens to young men and women. The reader will view how life was like in that time and place. Of families of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds came together with love and respect. Most of all the love that Esther and Joey share inspires and moves all those who come to know it.

About the Author

Jim Genovese was born on October 10 1931 in Brooklyn N.Y., of parents who were both born in Italy. For whatever reason, Jim's parents felt very comfortable living among Jewish people. That is why he grew up in Brownsville, which at that time was a mostly Jewish neighborhood. For as long as he can remember he wanted to be a writer. Over the years he started to write several stories but never finished any of them. He was always too tired or too busy working. With the help of Audrey, his beloved wife and forever girlfriend, he finally set this story onto page and finished it, No matter how this endeavor is received by the reading public, Jim feels, because so much of himself went into putting this story together that this story, while fiction, is very near and dear to him.
