About the Book

This book is a memoir of Jim's life, wryly told in short stories. It also presents a nostalgic look at growing up during the Depression in Chicago. The last section, a series of travelogues, was written while he toured the world. It includes observations about people, places, transportation and, especially food Jim possessed a generous wit, allowing him to view everyday life from a unique and droll perspective.
