Growing up in WWII Germany and becoming an aviator during WWII was a singular experience and is described here from the perspective of an ordinary child who grows to be a young man living in turbulent times.
About the Author
Hermann Moratz was a German air force pilot during WWII. Captured by the Russians, he escaped, immigrated to Brazil and finally to America. A professional engineer, he retired at the age of 71 and lives in Ithaca, NY with his wife Anna. They have two children, William Christopher and Karen.
