About the Book

Sarah discovers a new world in her high school Biology Club headed by Dr. Karl Porter, an exciting teacher in her school. Extremely shy and unsure of herself, Sarah discovers as she gets older that what has started out as a crush on Dr. Porter has developed into a very deep love.

Finding herself in a new world of growing desire, adoration, and intense inner feelings, Sarah does not tell her friends her deepest secret. Then one day her secret explodes as Dr. Porter invites her to spend time with him learning about nature and the city.

Dr. Porter's attention and affection give Sarah a new sense of the world that helps her deal with the realities of the affair.

About the Author

Ferne LaDue graduated from the University of Michigan with honors. She received an Avery Hopwood award for poetry. She was also a recipient of Columbia University?s Mabel Louise Robinson Fellowship for Fiction. She lives in New York City.
