Later, the Masserias and their Mafia cohorts extend their influence to the likes of Frank Sinatra, the Kennedys, the Nixon mob, Cardinal Richard James Cushing of Boston and many others.

The Masserias and their associates rule with an iron fist, at one point going so far as to drown the Sandhog supervisor during construction of the Williamsburg Bridge. Soon, the syndicate turns its attention to more important matters, such as corruption in Cuba, the atomic bomb and Las Vegas.

About the Author

Edward Anthony Gibbons flew B24 bombers in the Army Air Force during WWII. Afterwards, he served as a policeman, earning a medal for capturing three armed robbers. He is also the author of Crime, Passion and Conscience; Betrayal and Revenge and Boston Virtuous Vice, and the co-author of The Great Brink?s Holdup.
