About the Book

Chipwood, Kentucky.

A small superstitious town where everyone has a past, young and old alike.

Benjamin, Noah, Adam, and Isaac are the best of friends. The teenagers are walking in the footsteps of their fathers, best friends since childhood.

The freshmen need to do some research for a Halloween project that their teacher has assigned. When they agree to perform one of the spells from a witch's manual that Isaac finds in his attic, no one expects it to work. It's just a ritual meant to make the bonds of friendship stronger. The circle of friends is granted the responsibility of being gate keepers in return for their loyalty to each other. As long as the group remains friends, they are given protection from evil.

What could possibly go wrong?

But when the dead bodies of people from their past start appearing, the boys know that something has got to be done.

There are a lot of things the boys do not know. But there is one thing they do know for sure.

The color is black.
