About the Book

After losing his wife in an automobile accident, Jonathan Wells withdraws from the world, spending his time in quiet isolation, reeling from the loss of his only love. Just one thing sustains him: writing. Starting it as a way to clear his head, it quickly evolves into a full-time occupation. In just a few short years, he manages to write and sell five novels that propel him to the forefront of romantic fiction.

Annie Harbor is abandoned by her mother at a young age, and left only with a note which mentions, "Call your aunt Rachel. I think she will want you." Now in her twenties, Annie is a waitress at a truck stop diner where her Aunt is now the manager. One night she discovers one of Wells' books. She starts reading; finding she can scarcely put it down. She becomes further intrigued when she sees a picture of him on the internet; at once entranced with those haunted, yet gentle eyes. She writes him a letter, and sends it before she loses the nerve. Love at first read? I must be insane!

Bruce Gooding currently serves as a Sergeant in the Army and is about to embark on his second tour of Iraq in April of 2007. He lives in Lacey, Washington with his wife and two sons. He is currently at work on his second novel.
