Edwin Arlington Robinson: Child of Scorn examines from a psychological standpoint Robinson's works and their relation to his own life. Robinson was a famous American poet, the winner of three Pulitzer prizes for poetry. Alexander Grinstein, M.D., is a practicing psychoanalyst. He is past president of the Sigmund Freud Archives, New York, and of the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute. For many years he was Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Wayne State University Medical School in Detroit, Michigan. His wife, Adele, a clinical psychologist, has worked together with him on all his previous publications.
