About the Book

Outrageously Cool - Nurses! helps young children learn the wonderful opportunities presented by a career in nursing. Each chapter describes a different type of nursing that engages readers in important and exciting happenings, such as learning about where nursing came from, finding out about nursing in Egypt, coming to know a tiny newborn in a remote area of Alaska, and finding out what military nursing is like. The nurse authors, students in a Nurses as Writers class at George Mason University, have created a book that they hope will interest young children in a nursing career.
