About the Book

The events in this fiction novel take place during the British rule in Tanzania in the twentieth century. The book which is about love, loyalty and betrayal involves two black young women, Sigrid Wande and Ferne White and the men who love them. Ferne and Sigrid are cousins. One day, in her office in Moshi, Tanzania, Sigrid receives a phone call from an identified man with a British accent telling her that her rich cousin Ferne has been kidnaped from her university and that she is required to deliver the ransom to the kidnapers who are holding Ferne as a hostage in Mombasa town on the coast of Kenya. On the instructions of the unidentified phone caller, Sigrid makes a train journey to Mombasa alone without any knowledge of anyone during the night. The girls encounter all sorts of difficulties while freeing themselves from the ring of the international kidnapers operating all over Africa, England, Europe and America. The girls, with the help of Ferne's white English father seek peace and freedom in the western world.
