In “Lakonta,” three world travelers enjoy each other’s company in a Turkish café. The Englishman wishes to cross a bridge to the past so that he may learn from it. The religious man wishes to cross a bridge to his God so that he may be closer to him, and the narrator wishes to cross a bridge to people so that he may touch and be touched by them.

About the Author

Tim Hulings graduated from college with a degree in philosophy. He’s been writing stories for more than fifty years, and this is his first published collection. He lives with his wife in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, where they raise horses and grow wine grapes.
