When you think of Christmas, do you visualize reindeer, fresh white snow, dazzling lights, and superbly dressed Christmas trees? These things all make Christmas wonderful and have a part to play in some way. But the most important thing, the reason for the season, the one and only person whom it is all about, is the Lord and King, Jesus Christ. It is because of him, and him alone, that we celebrate Christmas. His Love, His Joy, His Peace surrounds us all the time, but most extraordinarily at Christmas time. He is the Light of the World, the bread of Life and the one who came to bring us abundant life. Without a heart beating, life is nothing. If Christ is missing, Christmas is nothing.

The daughter of a Ghanaian diplomat, Emma Akuffo was born in Russia and spent childhood years in India, Italy and Ghana before settling in Britain at the ripe old age of 11. She uses the gift of poetry to bless and inspire from a Christian perspective. Emma has two children.
