About the Author
Matt and his wife, Lisa, met at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and have been married twenty-three years. They have home schooled their five children for fifteen years as well as mentoring families through hospitality, writing, speaking to homeschool support groups, various workshops and conferences, and in the local church for the last ten years. The Lord recently blessed them with a sixth child, Mercy Kandakai from Liberia, Africa Their sons Luke (22) and Levi (21) attended the College at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina for two years. Both boys are currently continuing their undergraduate studies online. Luke is a construction superintendent and is currently building in Dallas. Levi is a construction field engineer and is currently working on a 17 story high-rise in Houston. Their oldest daughter Rebekah (19) graduated in 2006. Rebekah is studying theology, history, Christian womanhood, writing and public speaking. Rebekah loves reading, piano, home-making and caring for children. Their next oldest daughter Beverly (17) is home manager and chef. She also loves piano, reading, and many other home-making type hobbies. She intends to further her studies in voice and piano this fall. Their second to the youngest daughter Brooke (15) is the "spark-plug" of the family! She loves writing adventure stories, drawing, painting, roller blades, bicycling, and piano. And their youngest daughter Mercy (13) was recently adopted from Liberia, Africa. Mercy is a dear, sweet girl with a wonderful sense of humor and love for everyone. She is enjoying learning all about America!
