About the Book

Experience the everyday challenges of a female firefighter. This is a true story of the author when she was employed in a rural fire department. Leaving the security of a cushy management position and entering into a sometimes-harsh world taught her many life-long lessons. You will feel her pain as she attempts and succeeds in the firemen's challenge test.

The events are based on a woman's perspective of the daily grind, while working in a man's world. She experiences tragedies from destroyed homes, to being first on the scene of a horrific auto accident. Share in her highs and lows. This seasonal journal is of her most vivid memories, while she worked in the largest county in Georgia as a rookie firefighter.

About the Author

The author lived on the outskirts of Augusta, Ga. in the small rural town of Hephzibah. Here she commuted to the fire department, where she was employed, until marrying her husband Jeff. She and her family now live in a small town near Springfield, Missouri.
