Untok sits as the adolescent king of Mesit, an ancient city carved into the cliffs of the Netar Mountains. When a massive earthquake destroys the city, Untok faces his destiny. Untok travels to distant kingdoms to enlist aid for his people and establish alliances with his neighbors.

At home, a conspiracy threatens the kingdom, and a plot to steal Mesit's gold reveals patterns of deceit that led to bitter rivalries and war. His coming of age is both tender and tragic as Untok learns to dispense justice with mercy.

Untok's vision and convictions are tested as he leads his people in relocating the city to the plains. The young king earns the respect of new allies, while his heart is captured by a beautiful princess. Together, they lead Mesit into a new era of prosperity and enlightenment.

About the Author

Tess Kelly lives in San Francisco with her husband. An occasional poet, songwriter, and short-story writer, this is her first full-length novel. Her other pursuits include jazz vocals, gardening, travel, and helping others in her community to buy and sell real estate.
