About the Author

Samuel C. Thompson, Jr., professor at the UCLA School of Law and director of its Center for the Study of Mergers and Acquisitions, has been a partner in a major law firm and also worked in government. He has a law degree and an MA in Business and Applied Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
