In Poetry is More Than Just A Poem, Paula Denise Johnson writes freely about subjects some find difficult to discuss. She addresses life's situations such as sexual abuse, addictions, violence, death, and racism, while stirring the hearts of all who read. This is not just another book of poetry. This is a mind-provoking book.

Writing is simply a means of getting inside you. Poetry has allowed me to confront the many day-to-day challenges that I have faced or challenges that I am facing. This is why I say that poetry is more than just a poem. It is my song. A song that is sung daily by many.

About the Author

Paula D. Johnson received an International Poet of Merit Award from the International Society of Poets for her poem dedicated to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Elmhurst College graduate plans to attend law school. She resides in Chicago, Illinois, and is employed at the Illinois Attorney General?s Office.
