About the Book
Roland Giduz, who calls himself a "notorious hometown ne'er-do-well," has written in and about Chapel Hill (NC) for more than a half-century. His latest work is an anthology of newspaper columns written in recent years as a contributor to The Chapel Hill Herald. Through his imaginary mentor and revered friend, Cameron Henderson, he dissects, declaims and reminisces on the unique corporate personality of the fabled Southern Part of Heaven and its denizens.
The crusty old self-proclaimed "Oracle of Chapel Hill" quite understands but does not necessarily always agree with the mission of the University of North Carolina, the first public university in this country, and the sole raison d'etre of this academically-oriented community. But in his heart he holds a deep love for his ancestral hometown, a knowledgeable pride in it, and a readiness to defend it.About the Author
