About the Book
The globalization of the societies has resulted in the shrinking of the world and vanishing of boundaries. Gone are the days of "us and them" and therefore the need of the hour is to protect pluralism not only in every individual society but also in the entire global society. There is an urgent need to enforce a minimum level of meaningful governance, which must address Education, Secularism or Freedom of Worship, Nationalism and Community Living. These happen to be the critical elements of a happy, prosperous and contented society that will be at peace with itself and others.
The study of the Indian society, which is truly multi cultural, multi ethnic, multi linguistic and multi religious society would bring out the interplay between different kinds of forces, the good, the bad and the ugly. The need of the hour is to stop consoling the mind and work for the well being of the global society in the true spirit of the famous Biblical saying, "Do not do to others what you do not want others to do to you", which is more often forgotten or violated at the time of policy initiatives.
