About the Author
Colonel Joe Walden, Certified Fellow in Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM), is a career US Army Quartermaster Officer. He established the Theater Distribution Center in Kuwait to support Operation Iraqi Freedom and has made presentations worldwide on supply chain process improvements. Since his retirement from the US Army, Joe has served as teh Executive Director for the Supply Chain Leadership Institute in Kansas City. He is the author of three books on Supply Chain Leadership. Joe is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management for Webster University and is a Lecturer on Supply Chain Management for The University of Kansas.
He currently lives in Lawrence, Kansas, with his wife Kay. Joe provides classes on Supply Chain Leadership for FORTUNE 500 Companies and professional organizations. Joe is the author of two other books on Supply Chain Leadership and a text book on Operations Management. He served as the principle author for Warehousing and Logistics for the APICS - The Society for Operations Management Body of Knowledge. Joe served as the Director of Education for the Warehousing Education and Research Council.
