About the Author
R. D. McManes was born in McAlester, Oklahoma in 1953. He began writing poetry in 1965. His first poem was written for his mother on Mother's day as a gift. Mr. McManes has been writing off and on for the last 35 years. He recently retired from the US Army Reserves and currently calls Kansas home.
