About the Book
Rene and James are two lonely teenagers, who are introduced at a party by two friends hoping they will hook up. The plan works too well on James and completely fails on Rene. He calls her up repeatedly, follows her home, and everything else stalkers are supposed to do. Sound like a screenplay for a really bad action thriller? Well, you’re damn wrong! :-) Rene and James is a two act play, written entirely in rhyme, loosely mocking Romeo and Juliet. It is based on a stalker theme, in which the theme serves not only to mock a literary classic, but to explain the true nature of love and why suffering exists in the world. In just two acts, Rene & James manages to discuss countless political and theological debates in entertaining verse.
