About the Book
In Disaster Through the Eyes Of a Child: Urban Expressions On the World Trade Center Attack, elementary school students speak out on the impact that the World Trade Center attack had on their lives through illustrations and written expressions. Many of the students were traumatized for being so close to such a horrific act. Some had family members who worked in the World Trade Center. Myles, a five-year-old student, said, "My Auntie Baby worked in Tower 2. She got out safely." Shakir, a 6th grade student, wrote about the firefighters and police officers who died while trying to save lives. You will feel the enduring effects as these students' stories unfold.
