About the Book
Montgomery Pendleton is a 12-year-old boy who finds himself all alone when his father dies in a mysterious fire. Contacted by a grandfather he didn't know he had and invited to live with him on a country estate, Monty jumps at the chance. Immediately the boy senses there is something odd about Embleton Manor and the people he meets. Something strange lies just beneath the surface, but nobody's talking. Everyone seems to have a secret they have no intention of revealing.
Monty is befriended by a girl named Frankie who tells him that it is the destiny of all Embleton's to be keepers of the secret of Cadogan Bay, a body of water that lies directly west of the estate. Eventually the children cross the bay, hoping to learn its secret. Greeted by espionage, kidnapping and secret identities, he and Frankie are sucked into an intrigue far more mysterious than they ever imagined. For every mystery they unravel, another one appears. Will they be able to get back across the bay in time to prevent some of the bay's secrets from being exposed?About the Author
