About the Book
In Oregon, 1995, something strange happens: an alien ship crash-lands, and creatures known as the Sniela wander forth, stranded on a foreign planet. As peace-loving, curious aliens, all sorts of greedy folk could have easily captured them. Lucky for the Sneila, they’re discovered by the Johnson family. Grandma Rainie is thrilled. She’s always believed in life on other planets, and now, she has her proof. The rest of the family is a bit more hesitant, but they soon welcome the Sneila and introduce them to life on Earth. The aliens learn from the Johnsons, but the Johnsons learn an awful lot from the aliens, too. On their low-budget tour, the Sneila hope to see all they can of the new world around them. They don’t hope to conquer, and they would like to eventually get home. For now, they run with the Johnsons toward adventure and even find an unexpected vacation spot, peaceful for friendly aliens and humans alike.
About the Author
Marji Ozawa Cicerich created the alien Sneila dolls in 1995 as a joke with her friend Yvonne. The dolls were a hit at craft shows, and so the story was born.
