About the Book
Triggered by a distress call from the Salvation Army shelter for the homeless in Oklahoma City, Jake McCarthy embarks on a mission to help his newest client, a mentally deranged, elderly widow, uncover the cause of her husband’s suicide and the loss of millions of dollars. With virtually no help from his client, McCarthy uncovers a nest of evil in her hometown, Crosswind, Oklahoma. Through the efforts of an attractive, female psychiatrist and McCarthy’s near fatal snooping into the business of Crosswind’s elite, he is able to piece together a near-perfect scheme to defraud Molly Allen from her inheritance. This story of greed, treachery and betrayal of family and friends offers a keen insight into the ability of wealthy third-generation businessmen to rationalize even the most heinous of crimes.
