About the Book

Mideast Meets West-On Being and Becoming a Modern Arab American is a humorous look at the problems Arab Americans have, whether born or naturalized.

Dating, language, assimilation and September 11th-these are only a few of the troubles mentioned by author Sally Bishai, who has lived through all of them (if not more!) and draws upon the testimonies and life stories of over 350 Arab Americans (herself included!).

About the Author

An Egyptian American, Sally Bishai received her B.S. in psychology and M.A. in communication arts, and looks forward to a Ph.D. by 2006.

She currently teaches Intercultural and Speech Communication at the university level.
