About the Book

A String of Pearls is a heart-warming and heart-wrenching story about three generations of women and their struggles in love and relationship. It is a story of Ignacia Sanchez who was forced to marry a man she did not love; of Berta Chan who married the man she loved but physically abused her; and of Teresa Andrews, whose doubts and fears about love and relationship almost cost her the love of her life. It is a story of a daughter who wanted to be like her mother and another who did everything not to be like hers; of daughters trying to understand their mothers; and mothers, their daughters. In the end, no matter how different they may be, they will always be like a string of pearls, for they are of the same kind.

About the Author

Margie Bruce was born in Cebu City, Philippines. In 1993, she married and moved to the U.S. She received her accounting degree at Marquette University. Ms. Bruce now lives in Wisconsin with her husband and one-year-old son.
