About the Book

An open and shut case. Ungrateful 17-year-old foster son was caught in the act of raping the underage daughter of his benefactor, veteran Baltimore Narcotics detective, Elliot Bowers; or at least that's how Bowers reported it. Overworked, the Rape Squad requests the loan of Homicide detective Cal Hopkins and his partner to conduct the routine follow-up investigation. But, good cops can't let stand bad answers to disturbing questions about their "brother-in-blue," "the victim," and the "real" crime... or crimes? Their probing into the alleged rape uncovers a trail of sex, drugs, domestic violence, corruption, and finally, vengeful murder. but, in the end, comes justice and recompense.

About the Author

JOYCE HAMMOCK lives in Columbia, Maryland. She is a 2005 graduate of the M.S. Professional Writing program at Towson University and a 2002 recipient of Towson's Distinguished Black Marylander Student Award. She is a senior technical writer and editor for a Maryland-based consulting firm.
