About the Author

Harvena Richter grew up under the shadow and tutelage of her father, novelist Conrad Richter. He left an enormous quantity of writing notebooks, journals, novel notebooks, personal thesauruses, and collections of authentic material of the early East and West, all of which she mined for Writing to Survive. She herself has published fiction, non-fiction, and poetry.
